Heading into the cooler months has an upside, it gives you the perfect excuse to update your bedroom with some sumptuous new bedding! New bed linen is an effortless way to revamp a room. It’s also a cost effective way to try out a trend or design that you’ve had your eye on for other areas in your home. There’s plenty of inspiration in our AW2016 range, our Manchester Buyer Marilise Buirski talks through the key themes of the season.
“Inspired by far-flung and exotic destinations, as well as the fashion runways and designers such as Burberry and Emilio Pucci, this trend is growing in strength and we are sure to see more of it as the season continues. From Navaho-inspired graphics to colourful and exotic paisleys – the key is to mix and match, combining different textures and fabrics to create that ‘global traveller’ feel. Layer cushions, throws and quilts to complete the look.”
“Still heavily influenced by the Scandinavian trend, this season geometrics look new and exciting due to the muted, winter palettes, and combination of prints on the reverse of the duvets – really creating two bed looks in one pack! Typically, the geometric look goes with contemporary decor and bold colour – think ‘funky’, but this season the look has become more accessible to those who prefer traditional styling.”
“Inspired by the beautiful and lush greenery of New Zealand, this trend was really evident at international trade fairs and reconfirmed by designers during fashion weeks. This trend is moodier, slightly darker than it was for summer, but still holds a whimsical, almost dreamy look in its execution.”
